The Rule Book Page Ten (10)
Game Duration:
The game of Polearmball ends after twelve Deliveries upon which the Team Leader of the team which is losing is given the option of a Blitzkrieg if enough points are possible to score a win. Or a Blitzkrieg will be implemented in the event that the score is tied.

The twelfth Delivery determines the length of the game pending the option of a Blitzkrieg to the losing Team Leader. It is possible that when teams are more than 12 members in size that the rotation of players to take turns as Polearmists and Runners will be cut short.
A Blitzkrieg

In Polearmball a Blitzkrieg is a contest between the opposing teams. If there are enough players on each team to pair off and make a difference to the outcome of the game then the Team Leader of the losing team is given the opportunity to play out a Blitzkrieg. Or a Blitzkrieg may be necessary in the unlikely event of a tie.

Again, upon determination that a Blitzkrieg may change the outcome of the game due to the score being close enough to make a difference or the score is tied then the losing Team Leader is given the option to play out a Blitzkrieg. Or the last team to score a tying point is given control to the Team Leader of that team to pair off the players.

Upon approval by the referee the presiding Team Leader proceeds to pair off the players at his/her discretion. The two Team Leaders will compete against each other. After the players are paired off then all pairs line up in a circle standing randomly on or around the Midfield Circle line. The paired-off players then grab each others forearms and lock with their hands and wrists. The presiding team members will stand inside of the circle and the winning team members will stand outside the circle. Upon a ready-set-whistle blow by the referee the players then have ten seconds to fling each other to the ground according to proper Fling protocol in the rules. Once a player is successfully flung to the ground then that player must remain seated on the ground. At the end of ten (10) seconds the referee blows the whistle and the number of flung players are counted for one (1) point each awarded for fallen opponents. If the total which is then added to the score changes the outcome of the game then the tie is broken or the previously losing team is now ahead of the former winning team and they now have won the game. The Blitzkrieg will be played again in the event that a tying score remains unbroken. Blitzkriegs will continue until a tying score is broken.

The duel between opponents in a Blitzkrieg is unlike an Arm Duel played out as a foul where the victim attempts to fling the perpetrator. In an Arm Duel played out as a foul, only one opponent attempts to bring the other player to the ground. In a Blitzkrieg both opponents battle to bring each other to the ground. The one who prevails, wins.

Protective Equipment:

The runner needs a protective vest which protects the rib-torso area and up behind the neck and head. The protection behind the neck and head should probably be a one unit device that bridges from the shoulders over the neck and up the back of the head perhaps coming around to the sides of the face behind the ears. This padding will also serve to help identify the runner on the playing field so that all players will be able to notice where he is at all times. Other players may also wish to protect the torso area. The polearm is forgiving in such a way that protective equipment may not need to be rigid but caution is in order due to possible impact from high velocity throws of the polearm.

There is an element of concern about impalement should a player fall into the back end of the polearm. This concern is to be significantly mitigated by design. The back end of the polearm is well protected and has no sharp points on the inside of the shielding. It is unlikely that the back end of the polearm will impale a player. Even more, the design at the front end of the polearm having a globe device much like a ball will prevent the polearm from wedging itself into crevices and soft ground. Pressure put on the back of the polearm will cause the polearm to slide away due to the globe at the front.
Polearmball Culture:
Polearmball players should register with The American Polearmball Association. All aficionados who love the sport should register. All officials and teachers and coaches of Polearmball should register.

A Polearmball warrior is born the day that his warrior name is approved by the American Polearmball Association. Before a player can become a registered warrior he must find a team willing to adopt him into their clan, family, tribe, or gang. If no team is available then the player may elect to form a new clan, family, tribe, or gang. The minimum requirement to form a new clan, family, tribe, or gang is four people in the same age group. There are other criteria that also must be met. All prospects must register and apply to the American Polearmball Association and submit their suggested warrior names for approval. New player groups and new warrior names shall be reviewed by The American Polearmball Association for approval.
